Hello my dear subscribers! First of all, I wanted to thank you all for your patience as I worked toward my deadline. It’s been a SLOG! But I only have fifty pages left to go, and in the meantime I am so happy to be back here with all of you.

As a thank you to everyone who has stuck with me, I wanted to do something special. So here are ten of my absolute favorite writing tips, all in one place.

1. How to “Show, Don’t Tell”

The golden rule of writing means that we want to feel the scene, not just read about it. Your job as the writer is to put us in the scene so that it feels like we’re actually experiencing it. Instead of telling us that the character is angry, make us feel angry. Take us through their thought process, describe the way their body feels in the moment. Make us feel like we're right there with them.
