I spent seven long years working on my debut novel, and I thought it was a masterpiece. But when it came time to submit, not a single publisher bit. It was a harsh lesson that sometimes, passion and effort aren't enough. But I didn't let that stop me.
Years of studying the craft and devouring every resource on commercial writing led me to discover invaluable strategies—and to my amazement, my next novel not only got written in half a year but also sparked a bidding war within days of showing it to my agent.
The difference? I had uncovered the secret narrative beats that gripping tales must hit—elements no writing manual had ever revealed.
Now, after years of demystifying the publishing industry and mastering the craft of storytelling, I'm ready to share these secrets with you.
In this newsletter, I'll guide you through everything I've learned about creating stories that resonate and sell. We'll explore:
The Art of Irresistible Ideas: Learn to brainstorm concepts that pique the interest of agents and publishers.
Crafting Your Protagonist: Master the nuances of a main character that readers will root for.
Envisioning Your Cast: Develop a supporting ensemble that enriches your narrative.
Structural Mastery: Harness the power of the Three-Act Structure to outline your novel.
Fostering a Writing Habit: Establish a writing routine that fuels your creativity and productivity.
Here's to writing stories that don't just echo in the void but resonate with the sound of turning pages and bustling book signings. Happy writing, and I look forward to our shared journey to publication.
